I agree with you, Ted, and just wanted to elaborate a bit from my own perspective. The majority of people (Feelers) mis-understand INTJs and think we lack emotion. As Ted wrote, it’s not that we lack it – it’s that we try to minimize its effect on our decisions. We are aware of our emotions and how they try to sneak into our judgments, and we do our best to ignore them (with marginal success).

I actually think that this might come from an excess of empathy as children (though this time, I have no theory to back this up). I know that I am super-sensitive to seeing bad or embarrassing things happen – even when something embarrassing happens on a fictional tv show, I find myself trying to hide my face so as not to see it. My ESFJ wife finds that hilarious.

When my buddy, who is an INTP engineer, was over watching tv with us, I noticed that he does the exact same thing, and his wife (also ESFJ) found it hilarious. I wonder if we try to exclude our emotions from our decisions because we are so sensitive to them?
